How Do I Reset My Modem?

If you are having trouble connecting to the Internet, resetting your modem may fix the problem.

Step 1: Find your modem:
Your modem is a small box that helps your computer connect to the Internet. It might be in your living room or in your basement. Please contact us if you cannot locate it.

Step 2: Unplug the modem:
Once you've found your modem, look for the power cable that's plugged into the modem and unplug it from the wall.

Step 3: Wait for 1 minute:
This helps ensure the modem is completely off. The modem should now be out of power.

Step 4: Plug it back in:
After one-minute, plug the modem back in. Place the modem back into the same place you found it.

Step 5: Wait for the lights:
The modem needs time to power back up and reconnect. Watch the lights on the front of your modem. They might blink and flash for a few minutes but will eventually be stable.

Step 6: Connect to the Internet:
When the lights on the modem are steady it means the modem is ready. Turn on your computer or tablet and try connecting to the Internet. Open your web browser and see if you can visit your favourite websites.
